2: Finch Avenue and Black Creek

The first stop along the walk is at the intersection of the Black Creek and Finch Avenue.  In August 2005, a large thunderstorm flooded the valley destroying the culvert across Finch Avenue.  When you are at this stop take a few minutes to look at the natural environment around you.  There are many animals which live in the ravine including fox, deer and rabbits – all of which have already been seen this year.   Keep your eyes peeled.

From this stop cross Finch at the lights and follow the path through the ravine.  When you reach the first bridge take the path that goes off to the right (east).  This path is just before the bridge, so don’t cross it.  The next stop is at the top of the hill between the transmission towers.
